It can hold three pods, making it a good choice for someone living on their own or a small household that doesn’t use a lot of herbs. GH Institute Nutrition Lab Director Stefani Sassos, who tested this indoor garden, says that it's "extremely easy to use, especially for someone that doesn't have a green thumb like myself," adding that the compact size made it perfect for a small kitchen counter. If space is a premium in your home, you might want to try the Smart Garden from Click & Grow. Take note, if the plants are left to grow for too long they may start pressing against the lights and burning. When we tested it at home, we found that herbs and lettuce grew so fast they needed to be harvested every few days, which makes it great for someone who uses these frequently. The Aerogarden Harvest claims to grow plants up to six times faster than soil. We found that it was very easy to set up and appreciated the lighted reminders to add plant food and water. No additional soil is required, as it comes with liquid plant nutrients, and there’s an indicator to remind you to fill up the water and add the plant food. When we tested this unit, we found the plants grew in the recommended time frame listed on the pod and the lights worked on the recommended schedule. You can also choose to use your own seeds, but you will need to buy a Grow Anything Seed Pod Kit in order to do so. The set includes six herb seed pods, but other herb, veggie and flower pods are available to purchase from the Aerogarden website. The hydroponic garden includes a full-spectrum grow light that's intended to mimic the effects of sunlight. Read our guide on How to use a propagator, which includes what you need to grow seeds, planting tips and how to care for your seedlings.A favorite among our testers, the Aerogarden can grow an abundance of greens in a compact device that fits on a window ledge. As well as propagators, we stock a huge range of growing accessories such as germination mats and root trainers. You can choose between small, medium, and large models depending on how many seedlings and cuttings you wish to grow. In addition, our electric versions help to stabilise humidity levels, which is particularly important if you’re trying to grow certain plants and herbs like strawberries and basil. Our electric models allow you to gently heat the seeds while they’re growing to improve their chances of success, and you can also purchase propagators that come with professionally designed grow lights. However, many of our products are compact enough to fit on an indoor windowsill within easy reach for watering and checking on the progress of their contents. Many people choose to keep their propagator in a fixed or mobile greenhouse or their garden shed. So, if you want to grow plants, fruit or vegetables with more success and have them germinate earlier, we have a range of top-quality propagators that can assist. Without propagators, cold snaps and garden pests can quickly underdo all your hard work and damage or even kill off young seedlings. Propagators are used to help germinate seeds and cuttings by acting as an incubator to help protect your seedlings, and allow you to manage the temperature as they grow.
